Dental Assistants perform a wide array of duties within the dental office, from chair side assisting to patient care and clerical office tasks. This program is designed to provide the students with a solid foundation in the field of Dental Assisting. Students will study all phases of Dental Assisting, with courses in history, ethics, chair side dental assisting, pharmacology, dental office procedures, and an internship or externship to gain real world experience.
Diagnostic Medical Sonography
The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program focuses on the use of ultrasound for diagnosing pathological and pathophysiological conditions of the abdomen, gravid and non-gravid pelvis and superficial structures. There is an introduction to vascular sonography. The program is divided into two components; introductory ultrasound courses designed to build a solid foundation in scanning techniques and normal anatomy recognition followed by advanced courses that focus on pathological conditions and patient-focused case studies.
Health Claims Specialist
The Health Claims Specialist program provides students with a solid professional
foundation in the field and enables them to become a vital member of the health care team and contribute to the overall financial business activities of the health care facility. Students in this program acquire a working knowledge of coding systems, coding principles and rules, government regulations, and third-party payer requirements to ensure that diagnoses, services, and procedures documented in patient medical records are coded accurately for reimbursement and statistical and research purposes.
In our Massage Therapy program students will be immersed in courses ranging from Anatomy and Physiology to Advanced Therapeutic Techniques all while incorporating alternative styles such as chair massage, Reflexology, spa body techniques, and aromatherapy. Included in the student's studies will be eastern practices and business courses, which equip students for their career as a Massage Therapist.
The Medical Assisting program introduces students to anatomy and physiology of the body systems, medical terminology, and required clinical and administrative skills needed to seek an entry-level Medical Assistant position. Students will engage in “hands on” training in clinical and administrative procedures such as injections, venipuncture, telephone techniques, filing and preparation of medical records.
Medical Billing & Coding
The Medical Billing & Coding program prepares students for entry level positions by
gaining exposure to the terminology, insurance forms, diagnostic and procedural codes, and procedures involved in processing medical insurance claims. Through exposure to medical law, students becomes familiar with the legal responsibilities as a Medical Biller and Coder.
Multi-Skill Health Technician
Multi-Skill Health Technicians provide clinical and technical functions in today’s medical office hospital. This program is designed to provide students with strong foundations in patient care procedures and theory, clinical procedures such as electrocardiography, and laboratory tests for an entry level position.
The program provides learning experiences that prepare the student to carry out the scope of practice, nursing duties, and responsibilities, of the Licensed Practical Nurse in New Hampshire. Clinical experiences occur in a variety of health care settings. The student is able to learn and to develop skills that she or he will need to deliver patient/client centered care, and to promote health and wellness.
The Respiratory Therapy Associate of Science program focuses on the acquisition of the knowledge, skills and behaviors suitable for the clinical patient care environment. Students earn an Associates of Science degree and may enter the field of Respiratory Therapy upon graduation and the successful completion of the entry-level credentialing exam (CRT) The student is additionally eligible for the advanced level RRT exams. The graduate may also be required to obtain a state professional license in order to begin work in the profession.
The Surgical Technology Program is designed to prepare the student with the necessary knowledge and skills needed to gain employment as a Surgical Technologist. Students will study all aspects within the field of perioperative services including, but not limited to, perioperative environments, medical law and ethics, pharmacology, sterilization, anatomy and physiology, sterile technique, OSHA regulations, anesthesia, instrumentation, communication skills, medical terminology, and procedures within the medical specialties.
